Guisborough is aLittle market town near Middlesbrough in North East England, part of the administrative county of Redcar and Cleveland.
History
It was in the North Riding of Yorkshire. These are used in the Domesday Book and the ruined Gisborough Priory dates back to the 12th century. A priory's title is triticum spelta while forgoing a number one U, when that was a old spelling of the town's title. Another old web sites & list have a equivalent spelling.
More historic web sites include Saint Nicholas' Anglican Church, built mainly from either either stone taken from a priory, & Gisborough Hall, a hereditary personal of Lord Gisborough, which now serves as the hotel & a popular venue for wedding receptions.

2 highway cross at Guisborough, a A171 and the A173. A A171 leads west to Middlesbrough and east to Whitby whilst the A173 goes south-southwest to Stokesley and north-east when far when Skelton where it joins the A174 coast road.
